Ford and Dodge both have fuel pumps in the fuel tank to push the fuel to the CP4. The latest version of the Duramax also now has a fuel pump in the fuel tank. Lift pumps like Air Dog and FASS replace the pump in the fuel tank on those trucks and in many applications need the 45 PSI or so for delivery. On your truck you simply want a small jaytc2003. the injector will come out okay with the 21mm injector socket. nothing else is needed for removal. (17mm spanner for the fuel pipes). The injector will be removed complete, although there are 2 sections to the injector you need 2 x 15mm spanners to seperate them and they arent exactly loose!
The next day I plugged my laptop into my car (2005 Mondeo 2.0 TDCi) and downloaded the codes (see attached images for screenshots): P0251- Injector pump fuel metering control malfunction P2291- Injector pressure too low during cranking (Forscan suggests it could be pump, filter, some blockage somewhere or fuel metering control valve)
